To grow rootdisk aix

To grow rootdisk aix

1) Define a new larger virtual disk and remirror to it.  When that is complete, drop both of the original mirrors, then create a second mirror the size of the new disk and mirror to it.  I can help you with this if you need.  You can find everything you need to know in the redbook found at:   http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247940.html  Susan has done this once before to grow root disks.

2) Alternatively, you could add new virtual disks and then extend rootvg to the new disks.  This will be easier in the short run but not a clean as option 1 over the long term.

If you are truly out of real physical disk space, you will need to add new disks first.  I doubt this is actually the case but you will need to login to the VIO servers to be sure.  Unless you have used some new since we set this up, you should have about 24GB to work with on each VIO server
